305a V6 ignition parts
Where do I find them?
I want a new: - cap ( believe its a screw down type, not the 1/2 or 1/4 turn latching kind ) - rotor - condenser - coil - wire set I found some parts here, but I'm not sure of the cap since they don't show the underside. If someone has bought these before and still has their order history and manufactorurer & part numbers, that would be super helpful. Thanks, Scott |
Re: 305a V6 ignition parts
Scott,
NAPA should have all that you need. BUT if you can swing about $80.00 order a Petronix Ignition System, which replaces all the older tech. parts. Best switch we made. Jake http://www.pertronix.com/prod/ig/ignitor/default.aspx |

I've ordered some cap and rotors from rockauto, autozone and oreillys and they all seem to not match. Maybe what is on there from the PO is incorrect. :-/ Thanks for the Petronix tip. I'll call them to see which kit is applicable for our trucks. - Scott |
Re: 305a V6 ignition parts
I got a new dizzy from auto zone and it works fine. I still using the old rotor with no issues. The cap is the same as a 230-250-292 inline 6 cap so if they say they can't get one that's bogus. lol Napa can supply the rest for sure though. I am using their premium plug wires and am happy with them thus far. :gmc2:

+1 for NAPA. Find one where they're not afraid to open a book instead of relying on the computer.

Rockauto.com has been a good source for me.
I saw a complete NOS distributor come up on fleaBay not that long ago |
Re: 305a V6 ignition parts
I picked up everything for my 63 from O'reilly auto. They had it all in stock. That was about a year ago, I haven't checked lately.
