1946 3/4 ton ful floater

I am getting ready to drop the oem full floater to fit up a truck 12 bolt ---- will be 6 lug all way around with the 57 front axle. I am not sure yet if the 46 FF is a 4.56 or 5.17. Does anyone know of a use for this full floater --- I take if used in another vehicle it would need fitted with disc and I doubt if there is a locker for it.

Other than junk value does anyone have a use for the oem front axle or rear diff?

And does anyone know the ujoint size --open driveshaft -- for the front of the 46 3/4 ton?

It's out. Someone in its life used some big nut spacers on the u bolts so the reg nuts came off but the ubolts have severe pitted where they were rust welded. The 67/69 12 bolts are close on the perches but 1.25" not wide enough for centers so will move them. One 12 bolt is set up for disc but I cn put it back to drums. Would be different with drums on front and disc on back haha.

Re: 1946 3/4 ton full floater

I had a 2wd and a 4wd axle 12 bolt --I only had to move the 2wd perches 5/8 or so of an inch each to get 42.5. The 4wd perches are in 1 inch less about 40" compared to the 2wd 41" about. I need a 2 pc driveshaft. Looking at one out of a 72 longbed. The 46 4 speed I am using is open driveline from a 1 1/2 ton, the truck came with an enclosed 1st piece on a 4 speed- 4 speed was bad. I may end up moving the carrier bearing location depending on what 2 pc driveshaft I use.

And I had to remove the bottom trailing arm perches on the 2wd as they interfere with ubolts
