Ball joint compatability

I'm changing my '67 C20 from front drum to disk off a '72 C20. I know the spindle needs to be swapped and I know the ball joins are different.

My question is can I buy the ball joints from a '72 and use those with my '67 upper and lower A arms or do I have to swap the arms as well?

Thanks!

If the c20 arms are just like the c10 arms then they have the same configuration. So you should be good to use a ball joint from a 72 on your 67 without problems! If your going that in depth with a swap I would go all the way and change out all bushings since your in there. If you end up doing that you will need to remove your A arms which then you could bring them into the parts store and "test fit" them to verify. Good luck!

Thanks Ryan! I was going to order the parts online and press them in myself, I just wish they would give dimensions!

Yea I hear what your saying! I called the local o Reilly's and they gave me dimensions on ball joints. I guess that was for figuring out which year of spindle I had. I found out I had a 73-87 spindle so I bought ball joints for those years and bolted right up to my 69 A arms on my c10

What ever year of spindles you want to use you need that year of upper ball joints and also use the same year of outer tie rod ends.
