Leaky proportioning valve

2 Attachment(s)
Well I opened my hood today to show off my engine compartment and discovered the brake proportioning valve leaking out the front under the little rubber boot. It was fine yesterday and truck has only 1500 miles.
It's a CPP disc/drum set up. Now the paint below is ruined already. ARGGGG!
I'm going to call them after I finish this post but I'm curious if any other members have had this problem and what was your recourse to solve it.

You're looking at the Metering Valve end of your Combination Valve. It may simply need tightened up a little.

Yes, I had this exact problem. Tightening it wasn't the fix. It needed a new metering valve. CPP sells just the metering valve for around 10 bucks. It's hard to find on their website, but it is there. It swaps out easy, and is less than a 5 min job. Bleeding.... that's a different story.

My brand new CPP combo valve, master, booster combo leaked and it was the plastic brake warning switch on top of the combo valve - it was loose and needed to be tightened :(.

Also, the check valve on the booster wasn't any good so it had no boost, had to replace that. Otherwise, all good.

Thanks for the info on the metering valve, I checked for tightness, it was okay. I'm going to call them right away and see if they'll send me a new valve to replace this one. They say parts guaranteed forever so we'll see.
I've a problem with my booster too. At engine start up The booster has no vacuum but after engine comes off fast idle it will build vacuum and be fine.
I did a vacuum check on the booster and it won't hold for more than five minutes. Tech guy Jeff said they would swap it out no problem but I'm not ready to quit driving the old girl just yet.
What aggravates me is I have to let the truck sit while I wait for parts plus I have to repair the ruined paint on the inner fender and steering shaft. Guarantees don't cover that stuff.

Re: Leaky proportioning valve

CPP is sending me a new combo valve no charge, just shipping, said they'd rather not do just a metering valve cause they've had trouble with them. Thanks again fellas for your input.
