Drop spindle differences by brand?

Hi all,
86' C10 stock 15X8 rally, Looking at 2.5" drop spindles (1" rotor) but most searches come up with 67-72 trucks. I have seen posts that say drop spindles push out the wheel a little, is this just on 67-72 or all? If this is the case, what brand will move them the least? I emailed CPP but they told me they don't manufacture spindles for the 1" rotor.

I found Western Chassis spindles for 1" rotors on Summit, but at the moment the price is $603, no thanks! I have an email in to see if this is a typo.

Any other suggestion I should look at that won't affect the track width?

Thanks for any input.

cpp does not make spindles for 1" rotors only 1.25.

western chassis spindles are not $600 from summit I think I paid around $260 when I bought mine.

all spindles will push the wheels out.

also western chassis spindles will not cause the wheel to rub on the lower control arm....all other spindles will cause the wheel to rub on the lower control arm an you will have to grind on the control arm for it not too.

Wow that must be a typo but I also see the 600 dollar price tag as well as the shipping date of next month. Someone else on the forum was talking about them being backordered. Might try calling western chassis and buying direct for 260.

Summit has the WC spindles for $235.97 with free shipping, but they're on backorder.

Keep in mind that Summit now charges tax on Texas, so be sure to figure that into your shopping equation.

Thanks for replying all. I should have stated I have stock upper and CPP lower control arms. I just looked again and the WC spindles I need still say $603 lol. How are the McGaughy's?

I used DJM 3" drop spindles on my 87 with the 1" rotors and I did not have to grind the control arms. I'm running 15x8 Rally wheels.

I have McGaughys on 2 of my trucks and haven't had any issues.

I also used DJM, but on 1.25" rotor. One oem 15" rally wheel is good the other rubbed slightly on the caliper. Good price on summit for sure. I have to say the DJM 3" is more like a 2.5" drop realisticly. The only other thing I had to do for install was bend the hard lined part of the brake line where it mounts the to spindle. Gunna have to cut some of my inner fender to tuck without rubbing now too.

Thanks again all,
Since my brakes are starting to bounce, I was thinking of just upgrading to the 1 1/4" brakes. I can get WC brake kit and spindles for $578, seems like a good price.

It is weird, the brakes are not shimmying like they are warped, just bouncing when I press hard when I have to slow down fast.

Please stop spreading this false information. Multiple 2.5" drop spindles will work just fine without causing the wheel to rub the control arm. This was just discussed in the recent thread.

The rub come from the amount of backspacing you have on a 15" wheel.
To compare apples to apples you have to have the wheel info when you are talking spindles and the wheel rubbing the lower a-arm.
All of this has been discussed to death on this forum.

Exactly. Although in this case, the OP specified a stock 15x8 rally wheel, which should clear just fine.

It is. As it has been pointed out by several posters in multiple threads recently, other 2.5" spindles will clear a 15x8 rally wheel just fine. I can personally verify this with the 15x8 rally wheels on my truck and spindles that are not Western Chassis and do not rub my control arm.
