Frustrated! LT1 in a 67 C10

I am sooo frustrated. I have a 67 C10 with an LT1 engine in it. Has the corvette balancer. I am putting Vintage Air in and according to them, I do not want to use the factory compressor due to it will die a death within a year or two.

Saying that, I bought the Sanden to go with the system and now cannot figure out a way to mount the darn thing!!!!

I bought the Alan Grove setup and it uses a different Alternator and puts the compressor on the passengers side where the alternator is currently so I had to return it (for a restocking fee).

I then bought the Bowers kit http://www.bowersrodshop.com/lt1-ac-relocation-kit/ and it puts it on the correct side but I cannot get a belt to stay on, had to shim it, etc. I have modified it so now can't return.

What am I missing? Should I just notch the frame and use a factory style compressor till it dies and buy another one? Should I continue to throw a belt with t he Bowers setup? Is there any other options I have not tried?

Any one have any thoughts by chance?

any pics of how you have it setup? if the belt wont stay on its probably a alignment issue...hence the need to shim it...

Hi Mongo -

Yes, but not great ones. I will take some this weekend and post. Maybe I just need more eyes on it. I moved to where I live in the past 2 years and don't know a lot of people that can just come over and put a second set of eyes on it.

I will say that Bowers Rod Shop really is trying to assist and are great people, I am just frustrated with this is all.

Thanks for the help!
