1949 gmc panel production number question..how many?

4 Attachment(s)
I have a 1949 GMC PANEL..i cannot find the production number of my specific model. Anyone know how many were made in 1949?

Im looking to sell my panel possibly but dont want to put a roll cage in if its a low production. The new motor i want to take to the track but have been told my model is pretty rare and i should leave it. I really want to go run it at track w the new engine but know i will only be able to make pass or before im thrown out for no cage.

Any help on production numbers would be appreciated.

I'm not sure they kept numbers back then...but a GMC in that nice a shape would be a shame to cut it up...and theres lot fewer gmcs out there than chevys..but panels are less sought after than the burbs are...
But it's your truck..do with as you wish...

I know..and thank you for compliment...
She needs alot of work..but i have power windows and door solonoid poppers,
4wheel disc brakes and its subframed up front w power steering , boxed fender well etc.not like its OEM..
i got a nice sbc 620hp stroker,tci,ford 9"
And i wanna know what it will run. Its faster than
My nova so i have an idea but i can't run it at track
Without cage. I would like to be able to know what
She will run in the 1/4..
I was hoping to hear it was a high production i have the cage already and small 200 shot kit of spray i want to install...guess ill wait to see if anyone knows actual production number before i cage and spray her ;)

I didn't know panels weren't desirable i see panels
Going for good money that are marginal IMO.
especially since the O.G. grave digger wasn't a suburban ;)
