Adding Rear Sway Bar Question

I have a Hellwig Rear Sway bar and will have to install while truck on ground. Instruction say the weight of the truck needs to be onthe suspension when its installed. If I jack up he truck and put jack stands under the axle is it the same as having the truck sitting on the ground.

Re: Adding Rear Sway Bar Question

When I put my QA1 suspension on, and went to set the sway bars I put jack stands on the rear axel and both lower control arms in the front. I also set it as close as I could to ride height.

It's close enough. Try to keep it equal front & rear though. If you put the rear on stands, put some under the front as well.

Thanks, I kinda thought that might be the right way as then the truck is level withthe weigh on the suspension.

I'm curious as to why you need to put it on jack stands? When I installed my rear sway bar, there was plenty of room with the truck on the ground.
