Kartch 56 GMC V10 Build

I will come back and get some more detail in here later. I needed to just pull the trigger and finally start a build thread. I always feel like I just need a little more progress to justify it.

I am building a 1956 GMC. The plan is a Mustang II front suspension, 4 link rear, Gen 2 Viper engine mated to a 4l80e trans. I'm building the frame from 3/16" rectangular tubing.

I will get some pics in later. I know this is a lame start but I will make it up I promise.

Huge thanks to Slammed57 for already answering a ton of my questions and sharing a lot of his knowledge. I will be bugging a lot of you moving forward so get ready!

Thanks!

Whelp, better start posting some updates. I'm actually to the point of doing the rear four link. I bought a Welders Series kit a long time ago that I will be using with some modifications. I will be on bags. I'm using a Scotts Hotrod super slam for the front.

Wow a V10, Sounds Heavenly!!!
I am mid stream on a C4 suspension on a 55.1 GMC100!
Wish I was tech savvy, I'm not!

That's great! Keep at it, you will figure it out (whatever you need to). My first big challenge was figuring out how to run the Viper engine. I started out by going through OEM schematics a LOT and then started to make a harness from scratch. I sent out the OEM PCM to get some stuff deleted to make it work. Long story short, it ended up not powering up at some point in the process. Probably the best thing to happen. Seemed like a big step backwards but pushed me into a Megasquirt system. It was a very steep learning curve but I was successful in the end firing up and running the beast on a cart I had it strapped down on. Haha! Now I have full control and with a laptop have do so much more than I ever could have with the OEM PCM.

Anybody know the best way to show a video? Youtube link?

Sorry to leave ya hanging. :)
I'm running a fairly wide rear tire (nothing like Slammed 57) Haha!. Because of that I will be running the four link bars inside the frame. Playing around with the idea of a Watts link but will probably end up using a panhard bar. We'll see.
The Watts will chew up some rear end real estate for sure.

Parallel equal length bars.
