Truck/Car Shows ... Closed or Open?

Starting to see pics of the shows, glad to see they are back.

My personal viewing preference is to see the vehicles all closed up. No hoods, doors, or trunks open. I get a better feel for what I'm looking at.

Depends on the show. If it's a judged show the hood and trunk need to be open. I dont open anything most of the time as it's just being displayed not into the trophy thing anymore. I do like to see a nice detailed engine though

It's a requirement for judging to have hood open, trunk open, and in some cases you have to have your windows rolled halfway up.

I’ve never shown a car or would want to be judged anyway, I never knew this.

I used to go to small local stuff in my 61 Lincoln convertible and when I pulled in they always tried to direct me to the show area. Nope, just here to check out the other rides thanks.

Upstate SC GM Truck Club annual picnic today... +/-260 registered trucks, a bunch more in the spectator lot, and even a bunch of spectators. 75-ish degrees. Beautiful day.

Our state lifted any and all restrictions on Friday.

Brothers just opened registration at 10am this morning for their show in August. It’s limited to 500 entries and was already SOLD OUT within the hour :smoke:

I was at the C10 Nationals today. Seemed to be open. I have no idea if it's regarded as a show or what.
I like to be able to see the engine.

I'm the same way. I'm just out for a good time. I did win first place once. No one was more surprised than I was. I showed up very late and just parked my car, looked at some other cars and went for tacos and beer because I was hungry. I never even popped my hood. None of that. Then I got a phone call telling me not to leave from the judges.
I guess they just liked my car. Because I certainly put no effort into winning anything. But I have to admit. It was nice. :)

When I'm taking pictures at an event I like to see the vehicles closed up. I tend to skip over opened cars or trucks. What I really don't like is when they are packed too tight to get a decent side shot.

Wife and I went to a Cruise-in yesterday. FREE food and drinks. No registration fee just donations. Had a great time and the weather was 73 and overcast.

We just had a show Sunday the 16th. I only took 5 pics, that's not like me. There were over 350 cars. Mine is Picture #5.

We hit the local car shows and the summer nationals (was Car Craft) in St.Paul MN. My wife likes to go. I typically bring something with a LS swapped into it. I'm happy to answer any questions on the swap. From the contact at the car shows I helped a few guys with their LS swaps.
Getting a trophy is kind of fun but that's not what I'm there for. Just there to hang out with other car folks.
Yeah the shows are back around here. Even last summer they still had a few around here.
