Rear End Suspension Options
So, my 64 was changed from Coil to Leafs long before I owned it. The shock mounts were Disneylanded in a strange config as well.
The ride is OK with some minor upgrades (thank you A1 Springs in Oaktown) but I'm looking to improve ride, handling, and safety without breaking the bank. What do you guys think about Air Ride suspensions? Seems like a decent alternative to converting back to coil... I've heard good/bad - just curious on your thoughts. If you've had a good experience, please point me in the right direction for the kit you installed? Thanks a million, Fellas. |
Re: Rear End Suspension Options
Can you weld? If so, you might look at a 4 link type system. They can be had for reasonable money.

Re: Rear End Suspension Options
Your cheapest alternative is to convert back to truck arms
Western chassis has a kit for axle swaps get back your spring perchs Or find a donor coil 12 bolt diff with truck arms For a 4 link you need to insure it has good triangulation |
