hydraulic brake boosters

Has anyone ever thought of swaping out their vacuum brake booster for a newer 80's style hydraulic brake booster off a one ton or larger truck? From what I've heard, they are better for braking and they take up less space in the engine compartment but they do require more plumbing.
The only reason is because I got a complete working setup with all the plumbing out of an 82 chevy 3500 series truck and am looking at converting my truck over.

Sorry for the long post

Ive seen one on a 67-72 truck. I think it would be a good idea. Well until your power steering pump goes out. Try searching on here for hydroboost or hydraboost. Good Luck
