67 Emergency Brake Handle to 69 K-20

I want to change the Foot activated E-Brake set up to a Hand Operated brake like the 67 had. I have the correct mechanism for the hand brake but was wondering what cable I need, or will the existing cable in the 69 work?
Thanks

I would go to LMC Truck and look at the catalogue, see if the part numbers are the same or different.

Could someone possibly post a picture of the Hand Brake Mechanism and Cable behind the Dash?
That way I could see the differences.
Thanks

Here's a photo. The cable passes through the firewall in a completely different location.

I looked at the set up on my 69 today and there's a lot of slack cable length on the engine side of the firewall. This makes me think that possibly the same cable could be moved to the location below the steering column and reach the Hand Brake. Possibly.

I have a 67 and a 68...I got a cable from inline tube for the 67....it was correct
I ordered one from LMC for my 68....the "U" coupling end that attaches to the handle is too wide, it's probably for the foot operated type? I'll have to re-shape it.
And yes, like PJ said, it comes thru the firewall in a different location..

I called Inline. Their part numbers are:
For the 67 FT 4335
For the 69 FT 4334

The main differences that I see in their pictures on their Website are the Cable ends where they connect to the Handle or the Pedal and possibly the lengths.

Here are some more photos. The cable passes through the front left frame rail in just the same way as it does on later models with the foot pedal. The cable is attached to the side of the frame rail right in front of that spot with a little clamp. You will need to get a mount for the handle, which will take the place of your existing square plate with the brake pedal bump stop in it.

Re: 67 Emergency Brake Handle to 69 K-20

When I get around to this project, I'm looking at using the existing Foot Brake Cable and all of it's mounting configuration to the frame and just moving it to the location shown in the pictures above. I will have to make an adapter to accommodate the Cable End at the Handle however.
I'll update this post as I go.
