Chev-odge: ‘71 K20 Cummins build
2 Attachment(s)
Welcome to the build of my Chev-odge. I’m Rob and I’ve always wanted a Cummins diesel truck and I wouldn’t want anything else except a 67-72 Chevy to house it in. I am thankful for this site and the resources it contains as I certainly will be needing them, and you. Thank you for your input and help ahead of time. Enjoy the fun and struggles with me that this will bring…and hopefully we’ll see a great outcome at the end.
So to start things off, here’s the 1989 5.9 Cummins I purchased with 400,000 miles. With this, I received the 5 speed Getrag transmission (no transfer case), the front and rear differentials (with 3.08 gears I am told, not verified), the driveshafts and to me, one of the most important items…the front clip of the Dodge. Right now my goal is to use the factory Dodge crossmember (with mod and fabrication) in the K20 frame. I think using the Mopar mounts will be slick. Has anyone else used a Mopar cross member? If so, what was your experience? |

I’m calling in reinforcements. Jim and John (father and son), know what to do…they do this for a living.👍

Brought some parts home to clean up and prime…the pistons are home for good as they won’t be used. We’re going .020 over on the block.
