will steering box 7802644 work on a 1971 blazer 4x4

Hello I bought a 1971 blazer 4x4 a few years back. Steering box needs to be replaced. PO gave me a steering box 7802644 which he said was better and from a newer truck. Will this box work what will I need for adapters. Is it worth the time or should I get one made for the truck. Thanks for your time
