Re: Camel Hump Heads on a 307???

It can be done....use 1.94 intake valve for safe measure. 186 and 461 are 2 good castings, they have accessory bolt holes. Will you pick up any power?? I don't think it would be worth the change.

Most of the time the cost of refurbishing the old heads don't make sence. Vortec heads are cheaper and out perform the camel humps. After market heads are the way to go for performance. I'm sure you've heard all of the"why would you hop up a 307" sayings...so I won't go there...lol

I built up the 283 that came with my truck with camel humps and stuff...with the thought that when I go to a 350 I could bolt on the parts from the 283. Well the parts didn't work well on the 283...and after I had a 1,000.00 in the 186 heads(which I sold for 500.00) I changed all of the parts for the 350.

anyways...make a plan and stick to it...
