I feel your pain. The vent are a bear to put in with new paint,I painted mine with the vent windows out and scratched one side putting them in. The only good thing was I had plenty of the paint left and my touch was not noticable. The only thing I can say is the truck will look more pro if painted with all the glass out. If you take your time you can tell where you would scratch them, and put some masking take in that spot to protect the paint.
