If it's as straight as it looks $2500 should be fair. Keep in mind that being its a 72 it already has disc brakes. 90% of the people that buy '70 and earlier trucks incur the extra expense of adding disc brakes. If he won't budge off $3000, it depends on what else you find in your area. Even if you save a few bucks on a truck elsewhere, you have to keep in mind costs of delivery, etc. If you really feel good about the truck and want it, buy it. They are gaining in value every year, and if you keep it while and improve on its condition, I don't see you losing any money on it.
