Not exactly what I phrased originally, but anything can be done with some work.
What you are seeing is a 67-68 hood that has been shortened up for a 69-72 front clip. If you look the sides of the hood come in more before starting to turn up and that is a 67-68 thing. The 69-72 start to turn up sooner. I did the same thing on Low Buck and I think I did a How-To on it as well if I remember right.
