No, you don't NEED them. The majority of my personal installs have not used rear speakers. It's been awhile since I looked at your build, but if you're gonna use rear seats, I would have something back there for the rear passengers. If not, it won't matter. I just figured since you already had some 6x9's you could use 'em....
