Re: Ackattack's Pro touring restoration thread

I did a little work this week. I started working on the gauges. They're autometer sport comps. I wanted the 5" ones to be on the back side of the bezel, so I used part of the original cluster to mount them in.

I'm also going to use the original turn signal location in the middle "window". I'm going to have to do a little cutting and rewelding to get it to fit the way it needs to so that it all works. Here is what the large gauges are mounted in:

I also gave some thought to the caliper setup with the new spindles

I'm waiting on a new set of brake pads for the LS1 calipers and then to get my truck back so I can mock it all up and make the mounting brackets. It should be fairly easy to do, so I'll post a "how to" so that others can easily mount these calipers on these spindles.

I also got some 68 plates for my truck:

I won them off of ebay from a guy that lives maybe 5 miles from me

I also ordered some parts:
front brake pads
new front calipers (almost as cheap as rebuild kits.....plus I don't have to clean them up to powder coat them)
turn signal lever with cruise control buttons
factory assembly manual
steering wheel and install kit
