The chrome trim holes are off a little too, but probably fit the original fine. I think there were different measurements going on at different build plants back in the day. They got em close enough.

they had an allowable range for the fitment of the pieces and panels...if you look in the assembly manual it tells the tolerances....as strodder said, they were only trucks so the tolerances were fairly large
probably depended lot on the different assembly guys....we all know how that goes
