The necessary distance to center the rear wheels in the wheel well will depend on how low you are wanting to go. It will be anywhere from 1" to 1.5" depending on preference.... and depending if you want the wheels centered at ride height, or when deflated. Careful measuring will allow one to set it up just how they want!

I also build trailing arms that are extended behind the bag mount in order to move the center-line back... all I need to know is how far one wants them extended (normally 1.25"). I am also building them with a 3" drop.
