I havnt tried this without using the relocator plates, keep in mind the plates also move the motor up about 1/2". You can try and ask Mark himself from S&P (479) 394-5711.

You probably already know this but depending on the year of the LS motor it will have different exhaust manifolds, Stock the ones that have the heat shroud over them will not fit on the passenger side, will need to be grinded down about 1/4"
