Yep, their mounted to the aluminum plate, this is the easiest way to install I believe, but as far as visibility I think recessing the gauges behind the bezel would be alot better.

were the holes in the plate the right size or did you have to open them up for the gauges?

I was told this Project had a L-72 427 425HP, It did not.
It does have a 427 block and parts from various 427 motors. It will end up with a nice strong 454 in the end.
It has not been run for 20+ years
