vacuum secondaries are typically used in heavy vehicles pulling street duty. Mechanical secondaries are more about performance. Dont take that as me saying vacuum secondaries wont perform because they definately can. Its just a matter of the application and complete combo.Theres a lot of good reading on the web that explains the difference a lot more in depth. Others will chime in and add some extra info. IM just not up for writing a book
