I am going to try to do this from memory. The compressoin ratio is 8.5:1. The horsepower is 230ish? You could put in a cam around 260 -268 with 45-475 lift and a set of vortec heads and HANG on ! that will pump that mtoor right up ,and you'll be grinning aal the time. The vortec heads are better floeing than any thing else the general has put on a smallblock. You can expect a gain of 30-50 hp by going to that stlye of head. You will need a vortec intake but you probably needed to update the intakeand carb on the motor anyway. Jim
