If you look back in the build, you will see that I used a combination the front half of the 1/2 ton sheet metal along with the back half of the 1 1/2 ton front sheet metal. This gave me more clearance because it was wider and the fenders sit a little higher from the cowl forward. It makes it look like the hood has been sectioned for a shorter profile, but it hasn't--it just is shorter height wise.
The 1 1/2 ton is also 4 inches longer, front to cowl. That is why we used the front half of the 1/2 ton fenders to shorten the wheel opening. When we cut the 4-ish inches out of the hood to shorten it up, the 'scoops' came about naturally because the hood narrows as it goes forward. I could have opted to shrink it to delete them but I think it gives it a custom look.
