The reason I had to come through the firewall (not my choice) is because I put a Belaire dash in my truck. If I would have went through the toe board I would not have like how it looked on the interior and I will be looking at that all the time. I did the best I could with it coming through the firewall and I still don't care for it but I have to learn to live with it. You pick your poison when you modify. If I did not have a smooth firewall it would not bug me but it looks like a elephant trunk to me.lol Its growing on my though.

Yes the steering linkage was a little more involved by coming through the firewall. Once again pick your poison.lol
