Well, it looks like I've been lucky. I've been doing it this way on my '00 S-10, and '05 GMC Sierra since new, and haven't had a problem. Maybe this has been because I usually burn at least 2 gallons right away.

What are the symptoms when the evap solenoid burns up. If mine are fried, I'd know right?
