AUSSIE54, I really is a shame you are half way around the world for me. I have seen the repo fenders and they look nice. I do not think they are as thick as the old ones, but they are steel. I wonder what shipping would be for you. There is a member that was from Germany on here and he said about the shipping being crazy for him.
