A couple things. First mine is EFI and the pump seems to be quiet enough for me. I had an external before that was much louder.
Secondly, the above height thing. I had to remove my rear cross support and slide my tank from the rear to sit the mounting "wings" on my frame. If I mounted it to the bottom I would have had the interference also. By placing it inside the frame it clears the top jsut barely. I would agree it would not hurt for it to be a little taller. I am waiting for my computer retune but have driven it some this tank looks and works super.

You mention "instructions" I honestly cant remember if I got any or not. if not I would suggest including this with these "must do" items like the rubber pad and the fittings.

A bigger more gph EFI pump would be a nice option this was not available when I purchased so I have the 255.
