Ok, here's the scoop. It must have been something to do with that orange wire. After playing with it the lights started working. I went ahead and changed the headlight switch anyway though. There was one burned out bulb, one corroded socket, and one missing socket. Fix two out of the three but now I need to find a sidemarker socket and replace it on the right rear. Then all my lights will work.
