You make some great points there is definitely no comparison between 1970's technology and cars today. I was a kid in the 70's though and remember we did all the things we do today in cars of that era. I think if you get everything running right and your vehicle is well maintained an old truck or car can be a great daily driver. Your point about safety though is well taken.
