A good CNC operator could machine an adapter that would bolt to the rear and accepts the U joint of your choice. Not sure how many machine shops can do heat treating. Just a thought. Could make building a new driveshaft easier down the road.
Offsets are normal. I centered my C4 rear but offset the engine right 1.75 inches to clear the steering shaft.
