Yes you can use the GM sensor in the 5.9. His engine should be pipe threads so as long as the GM OP sensor is 1/8" pipe, it'll screw in. Just beware that the OE type sensors can fail over time due to the higher oil pressure created from these engines. If the GM fitting is metric, you can get adaptive fittings from Tompkins.
