I've been watching CL Dallas/FW for a long wide med blue metallic bed, with or without a truck attached. No joy so far. I thought I had you a candidate, but it's a 67, and it has body side mldg holes (not to mention, even though it's off the truck, it goes with a truck).
I was looking at your page 1 pic with the the GMC bed---it looks like the tires only protrude about 4-5" beyond the fender lip. Are you going to cut down the stepside fenders to 6" or so? Just curious about that. You have to cut them anyway to make them fit the body contour, I guess.
While I was skimming CL, I saw a long bed stepside truck in there that gave me a thought (for if I ever do a C30, which I'd
love to do). What do you think about a step bed with
widended fenders? Is that just TOO funky?
