My buddy Keith B. did the actual painting, I did the final blocking on the cab. He showed me how to do a bit and then it was mine after that.. we sanded the first coat of high build with 200 grit then the second coat of high build down with 400 grit , then wet sanded the high build with 800 grit. We sanded in between coats of paint if it didn't look right or trash got in it with the 800. We ended up shooting the interior in my garage and I wet sanded the first heavy coat of gold down with 800 and then we said F it, and I purchased the more expensive Dupont paint.. then it went on smooth. I guess with paint you get what you pay for. And you get what you prep the surface for. We covered the whole exterior before we shot the gold, good thing too as the over spray got on everything! We shot Matte clear over the gold, first coat wasn't that flat but the day light pics reflect how it looks now. Flattened. More cab pics!
