I was looking at it and if you look at the picture closely, you notice that the red wire goes straight to the engine block and the black wire goes to the starter.....sounds a little backwards to me....

now i just wonder what all i fried by having the battery installed backwards in the first place.
battery is being charged as we speak
also got the accelerator problem fixed, i noticed that the spring had come out in the engine compartment when i was messing with stuff there. accelerator fixed, now with the new battery charge, i might be able to get this moving this afternoon......if so, i'll run it over to autozone to get the charging system tested.

The wire on the right side of your alternator is the charging wire. Did you get my pm? I've put the battery in backward before and it didn't hurt anything at least I don't think!
The board has been doing maintenance and they haven't been letting many members upload pictures.
