Don't forget your door sticker. While it does nothing to actually support a load or tow more weight, it legally limits the trucks capacities.

By swapping the heavier suspension and axle parts, you probably have reduced the legal load capacity. But if you are only loading it to the GVWR on the sticker, I bet you'll find the truck handling it much better. I've found that adding load range D or E tires with some suspension upgrades makes a world of difference on 1/2 ton trucks, even with light loads.
