You removed the rivet? I don't think you needed to remove the rivet. Mine had holes behind the rivet for the sway bar mount. I think you may have mounted your bracket too far forward. Here's mine. You can just barely see the rivet head in front of the bracket. If I remember correctly, I didn't drill the front hole, only the back one, and the front hole was slotted.
