Thanks AD, I was thinking about powder coating that piece with a silver vein black...probably just back up and paint it white like the rest.

I don't think these trucks came with radiator support rods??, but the core support had some angled holes at the upper, outer edge that started me thinking.

They really don't need the support, but I've always thought they looked kinda cool.

Sooo, I cut down and dimpled a piece of 2" angle for a firewall plate, welded a couple Al. tie rods together, and bolted them into those holes on the core support...straight bolts at the core support and heims at the firewall.
