I could only move the pedestals a small amount because there just wasn't enough material to remove any more & still be safe. I reassembled everything but still couldn't get the bushings in place because of the width of the collars welded to the bar (RED ARROW).

So to get more adjustment, I slotted the bushing to pedestal holes (WHITE ARROWS) which allowed the bushings to shift farther apart....
