i am a fan of leaving them open for drainage. i'll paint them as well as i can and i don't think i will have an issue. i have bare steel on my jeep that has been that way since 2009 and it hasnt barely surface rusted. i dont plan to baby this truck to much, but if it is really crappy, i always have something else around that i can drive!

Ha! thanks! i am pretty happy with the bumper i had that idea rolling around in my head for months after i killed a couple deer in ol yella
