Use all of the steering from the 73-87 truck.
Centerlink included.
I assume you are using the 73-87 control arms?
You got yourself in a bind you may not get out of today.
These conversions usually take time.
Swapping to a disc brake master cylinder and bending new lines could easily take all day by itself.
There is no need to rush this job.
Your safety and others depend on you having good brakes and steering.
