This wire is for a bypass to send full voltage to the coil when starting. It is not used with HEI. But, you should not run HEI off the original wire to the coil. It goes through a resister & is not heavy enough gauge for it. I like to tie into the pink wire on the ign switch with a 12 gauge wire right to the power term. on the HEI unit.
