Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

Have you contacted Boyd Welding directly before posting your complaints here in the for sale thread?

1. The vent/roll over placement is in the wrong place. It comes right under one of the bed rails. Moving an inch forward would solve this. Not that much of a problem as I just notched the rail.
2. Fuel gauge is all over the place after 1/2 tank. Once it gets to 1/2 tank the gauge really goes everywhere when turning, braking, accelerating. When close to 1/4 of a tank it's pretty much useless.
3. The biggest problem is fuel starvation! Once the tank gets close to a 1/4 of a tank, it becomes useless. Taking off from a standstill, cornering, it starves for fuel and causes the truck to stumble and choke. Not safe nor does it make for a fun experience. This is just with normal driving.

As I can tell, the baffling is just not enough. Fuel is able to move way too much. So now I am not to sure what to do. Having to fill the tank before it hits 1/4 sucks. I don't want to have to purchase a whole new tank and redo some of the pluming not to mention spend $$

Suggestions?
