Re: My Build: Home Depot Machine

Today was a big day. The front end was reassembled. We got the bed rust repair tackled and will mock it up next week to the truck.
The bad news, the tires are still not perfectly centered in the wheel opening. Also the lower porterbuilt control arms dont let the truck lay full frame, like the cupped lower ones did. The suspension geometry is point on though!
This left me and the fabricator scratching out heads. What we finally decided to do is handle all the problems at once. Since we where planning on shorting the bed to cab gap and doing bumper tucks we are going to move the cab back 1" and drop the cab mounts 1/2". This way the factory bed goes back 1/2", then adjust the rear trailing arms accordingly, tighten the cab/bed gap. This will get the tires far off the firewall and perfectly dead center in the wheel opening.
It may seam like a lot of work but at this stage it is now or never. I cant wait to show the progress in the next 2 weeks as it is all forward!!

All hardware is allen bolts and stainless

Finally on it's own 2 wheels

Setting up steering rack. I think this is a good ride height, any opinions??
