I think as long as there is no wobble in the blade extension it should be ok, i do agree tho that removing one or both spacers and getting a shroud would probably be ideal.
If you can i'd take off all the rockers and put a straight edge across all the stud's to check for pulled studs.
Real bummer but the setback is not the end of the world, hang in there!
