Hello,
Perhaps in the process of sanding and clear-coating my truck, a previous owner removed and then partially replaced the drip rails around the doors. The passenger side is tacked on with a few screws, the driver side trim is sitting behind the bench seat.
I found these threads about reattaching this type of trim.

My question is, should I go through all this now? I'm enjoying the "As Is Azure" + patina + clear coat + black paint job for now, but I will probably get her exterior painted/restored within a year (budget allowing!).
Is there a good way to attach this molding that will allow for easy-enough removal when needed? But if the rail isn't attached flat to the door, does it serve any purpose in the rain?
(Not sure why my photos rotated when I uploaded them; the originals are fine.)
Thanks!
Michelle
